Literacy LIVE@TDSB Introductions

We want YOU to let us know how you found the day, and the speakers, and what changes or opportunities have resulted from the presentations in which your school participated.

Each speaker brought their own special experiences to the day, and we are providing links to each one's website so that you can follow up with their writing, their organizations, and their schedules. Many of them would also like to hear from you - and we will make sure that all presenters are aware of this wiki, and hopefully some of them will also join our discussion.

Don't know how to start, or what to say? Why not begin by introducing yourself (first name only, please!) and letting us know:

What was your favourite part of the day?

Is your school already involved in helping others? How?

For example:
My name is Sharon, and I was one of the staff on the planning team for the Literacy LIVE! @ TDSB events on February 18 and 19th. My favourite part of each day was getting to meet the authors as they arrived and departed, and hearing how much they enjoyed being with students. We are always so appreciative when guest speakers come to our schools and events; we forget that it is also a great change of pace for them to be away from their regular jobs and schedules and that they greatly enjoy having conversations with members of the audience for whom they are writing.
I am not in a school, but my department has currently been supporting Dr. Chris Spence`s fundraising efforts for the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti through Free the Children, one of our presenting organizations. As we gear up for the United Way later this year, I`ll let you all know how that`s going!
